Repairs

While we don’t do many repairs, occasionally, decks will have a great frame and rotten decking. In that case, we upgrade the frame (codes have changed in the last 50 years), we tape the frame to seal off old screw holes, and then we install the newer decking, and often, new railing. While it’s often a very imperfect finished product, it is a very budget friendly option to boost the look of your backyard.

This re-plank was particularly disturbing once we ripped off the old planks. The code violations for this frame were plentiful, but we reinforced, repaired, and otherwise restored this 480 sqft deck into the focal point of the backyard for $14,000.

This build was a re-plank, that the customer later had us replace the staircase and the railing as well. The composite is Trex Saddle, and the railing is Fortress Black Sand.

The concrete caissons for this deck in Grand Lake were starting to slide down the hillside creating an unsafe situation. We replaced the caissons with steel helical piers and added an oversized glulam beam to support the hot tub above. This deck is now safe to enjoy while soaking in the incredible views.
